Home again, home again...
“There’s no place like home”, a girl with ruby shoes once said. Although the architecture of my hometown is not emerald, the path to my brunching happiness is purely golden. Immediately upon arrival, my mother suggested brunch. Hmm, maybe that’s where I get them from?
I was thrilled to hear that my favorite neighborhood spot started serving brunch as well as MIMOSAS! Green Chile Kitchen located in San Francisco’s NOPA, gives you fresh ingredients, handmade tortillas, and great local wines. This space has amazing light, booths and family style barn tables, and is right on the path of a major bus line which makes it the perfect place to get a quick breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner!
The next day, my old high school friend wanted to catch up. She suggested a great place called Farmerbrown in San Francisco’s Tenderloin. This place has a wide variety of people from different struggles and backgrounds, but seeing past that and looking at the vibrant music and art makes this place beautiful and such a key piece if SF history! Farmberbrown has live music, a great bar, amazing mimosas, and a fun spin on soul food. My friend enjoyed chicken and waffles while I partook in a fried catfish sandwich! I suggest coming here for a casual drink, a nice brunch or dinner, and listening to some great local musicians!
I am always sad to leave, but at least I found a great coffee shop to warmup while I pack my bags. Matching Half located in NOPA has deep fried pop-tarts, a great tea and coffee selection and bubbles as well! They have indoor and outdoor seating which makes it convenient to find a spot to sit!
